Welcome to Ranvilles Junior School!
Our school is a happy and special place to flourish. Our motto, Be you…Explore…Excel! reflects the importance we place on being authentic, adventurous and ambitious.
We describe our school values as STARS! Our learners are STARS in the making and we live by our values.
- Secure and happy individuals
- Talented contributors
- Ambitious learners
- Responsible teammates
- Successful communicators
Our curriculum, Exploring the World…Exploring Me! reflects our passion to be open-minded, reflective and progressive.  We secure knowledge through subject disciplines that are connected with a spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) focus. This allows us to think big, explore lines of inquiry and debate. We like to debate!
Pupil voice matters! We value oracy – we want our children to be successful communicators. Oracy is a fundamental vehicle for our half-termly ‘Big Debates’ where our learning culminates. We build on the knowledge we have secured to evaluate and appreciate different viewpoints.
At Ranvilles Junior, we are committed to meeting the needs of the whole child. Personal Development is crucial to ensure children are ready to learn now and in the future. Children’s stories matter! We use our Personal Development Maps to ensure learning aptitudes grow through our values. We invest in emotional, social and physical well-being. We value spiritual and cultural well-being and we consciously connect home with school to link socially and develop moral understanding.
We value our community and make links with the wider, diverse world too. We want learners to better themselves and to understand their responsibilities to others. We want all our children to leave us believing in themselves and having the knowledge and skills to confidently take the next steps to achieve their dreams.
To explore what we learn and value further, you will find detailed Curriculum Maps and Year Group Overviews in the Teaching and Learning section of the website, alongside the themes for our Big Debates. Our letters to parents share the learning intent for each half-term and teachers write weekly learning updates on ClassDojo. These learning reflections give a clear picture of what has been in focus and are insightful for connecting and extending learning conversations at home.
Please feel very welcome to visit or to contact us for any help or support we can offer.
