I am pleased to inform you that the Year 5 children will have the opportunity to visit Marwell Zoo as part of our conservation topic next half term. 5C will be visiting Marwell on Thursday 12 March and 5J will be visiting on Friday 13 March. We will be travelling there by minibuses. This is a wonderful opportunity for the children to visit the zoo, see the wildlife cared for there and experience a conservation workshop. We believe it will be a fantastic additional learning experience to our topic next half term.
We will be leaving school at 9:00am on the morning of the trip to ensure the children benefit from the maximum possible amount of time spent at Marwell. Whilst at Marwell the children will take part in a 45 minute conservation workshop led by Marwell staff and spend the rest of the time exploring the centre. We will be leaving Marwell at around 14:30 and will aim to be back at school by 15:30 ready for the children to go home at the end of the school day as normal. Should any issues arise due to traffic or delays, we will endeavour to notify you on the day of an approximate time that we will return.
Children will be required to wear their school uniform as normal and bring appropriate outer clothing for the weather. They will also need to bring a packed lunch and a water bottle to take with them on the trip, as we will be eating lunch at Marwell. If your child is entitled to free school meals a packed lunch will be provided by the school.
The cost of this trip is £6.36, which covers the entrance fee and the workshop. The cost of travel is covered by the yearly travel costs as per the letter dated 20 September 2019. Please return the slip below together with payment for the trip. You can also pay through our online system.
If you are willing to come on the trip and provide additional adult support throughout the day then please indicate on the slip below. We will contact you prior to the trip to inform you if your help is required and discuss any paperwork that needs to be completed. If you have any further questions about the trip, please feel free to contact us for further information.
Thank you for your support.
