Communication Exchange

Who to contact for advice or help:

Your views matter to us! We are dedicated to working in partnership with you to ensure the best outcomes for your child.

At Ranvilles, we take pride in being approachable and accessible. We welcome any questions, concerns, or feedback you may have. We will also invite you to complete three questionnaires each academic year.

Below, you’ll find a range of contact options to help you choose the most effective route for your enquiry, ensuring it reaches the right person as quickly and efficiently as possible. To support this process, we kindly ask that you contact one person only. Our team meets weekly to review and share communications, ensuring information is handled consistently and appropriately.

As and when appropriate, please be assured that information shared will be escalated to the Senior Leadership Team.

Mental Health & Wellbeing

At Ranvilles, we care deeply about the mental health and wellbeing of every child. If you have any concerns — big or small — please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Step 1: Parents are encouraged to view the 🔗 RJS Mental Health Padlet. This contains a vast range of support, for a range of situations, and will enable you to support your child effectively at home.

Step 2: Where further, bespoke, in-school support may be required, complete our 📝 Pupil Wellbeing Support form. This will be directed to Pastoral Team. Senior Leaders, including DSLs / DDSLs ensure information is handled consistently and appropriately.

Furthermore, if you wish to touch base with the Mental Health Lead regards a specific matter, please email 📧 wellbeing@ranvilles-jun.hants.sch.uk

We understand that these concerns can feel sensitive, and we are here to listen, support, and work in partnership with you. A member of the team will respond as soon as possible and aim to guide you towards the right support for your child.

Safeguarding

At Ranvilles, the safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority. Please visit our dedicated Safeguarding website page. Our safeguarding page ensures that parents and the wider community have clear, accessible guidance on how to raise concerns, understand our processes, and access the right support. It reflects our commitment to keeping every child safe through open communication, shared responsibility, and strong partnerships.

If you have any safeguarding concerns, we encourage you to act promptly. If your concern relates to a child in school:

Please contact our Safeguarding Team as soon as possible:
📧 dsl@ranvilles-jun.hants.sch.uk

We all share a responsibility to keep children safe. Thank you for helping us protect and support every child.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Step 1: General enquiries regards your child

Individual Education Plans (IEPs) are shared with parents three times per academic year, via email. These complement the three progress reports that are also emailed to you.

If you wish to raise an initial enquiry, please detail a specific focus and email your child’s class teacher via the year group email.

  • 📧 For Year 3: y3@ranvilles-jun.hants.sch.uk
  • 📧 For Year 4: y4@ranvilles-jun.hants.sch.uk
  • 📧 For Year 5: y5@ranvilles-jun.hants.sch.uk
  • 📧 For Year 6: y6@ranvilles-jun.hants.sch.uk

These initial enquiries may include:

  • You are worried about your child’s progress, learning, or development
  • You feel your child may need additional support or is not accessing learning as expected

Step 2: Contacting the SENDCo (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator)

Our SENDCo meets with parents of children with EHCPs on a termly basis, in addition to the annual review.

If you have concerns about your child’s special educational needs or disabilities (SEND), we encourage you first to discuss these with your child’s class teacher. Our SENDCo is also very happy to meet with you. This may include situations where:

  • You have further and additional questions about existing support, interventions, or provision in place.
  • You would like to discuss a diagnosed or emerging need utilising the expertise of the SENDCo.
  • You feel your child may benefit from further assessment or specialist input.

Our SENDCo is here to work in partnership with you, listening carefully and ensuring the right support is in place to help your child thrive. Please contact our SENDCo at 📧 SENDCO@ranvilles-jun.hants.sch.uk to raise an enquiry or make an appointment.
