Please encourage and ensure that your child is safe when online. Please access the support for further guidance (above) and refer to our safeguarding policies on our website. As you know, children are /can be very trusting.
They should not be communicating with anyone online who they do not know in person. They should not be sharing any personal details or information about themselves or their families. Please be vigilant and ensure that your child’s computer / device has the appropriate settings to ensure that your child is safe. Sadly, there are too many adults who will try to take advantage of children online.
PLEASE tell your child that it is safe for them to tell you ANYTHING they have concerns about. As we know, children do not want to disappoint us when they have not adhered to our guidance or when they are concerned that we might ‘judge’ their friends. They are sometimes more fearful of the disappointment we might have than of sharing what is critical – what really matters.
PLEASE find time to tell your child that it is OK and VITAL they tell you of anyone or anything which upsets them or causes them concern. Tell them that SOME adults make inappropriate choices and that we need to look after each other. Tell them that some children need help and they must share ANY concerns they have.
If you have any concerns you would like to discuss/ share, please feel very welcome to contact admin@ranvilles-jun.hants.sch.uk If you know a child is at immediate risk of danger you should contact the police as a matter of urgency.
If you have concerns about a child, you consider is at risk, contact
