Headteacher’s Welcome

Our principle aim is to make sure your child feels happy and safe, physically, spiritually and emotionally at school. We want children to ask questions, explore and to ‘have a go’. Children will learn that they need to practise to improve. We want them to be confident to take risks in their learning and to know that lifelong learners ‘get it wrong’ to ultimately ‘get it right’.

Through a great emphasis on Moral Education (focused through Ranvilles Stars) children at Ranvilles Junior are learning today for the challenges of tomorrow. We will encourage your child to have big dreams, to work hard and to believe in their talents. We will promote their interests and do all we can to help them to achieve their personal best at this stage in their learning journey.

We are passionate about the whole curriculum and take great pride in our Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural focus which is at the heart of all curriculum learning. Children will learn in close partnership with teachers, who will support and challenge them to reach their potential. They will also learn independently and with and from each other, to have an open mind-set.

We recognise that our role is to also prepare children for secondary education. We strive to achieve the best academic results for all learners. We also strive to achieve the best results for learners who illustrate great enthusiasm and talent for physical education and the Arts. A talented local designer revamped our school logo; the half bee that you can see represents who we are now. The part you cannot see is who we might become in the future. We are working hard today to develop kind, respectful, thoughtful, innovative and creative citizens of the future, who lead and make a difference.

Please feel very welcome to visit us. Children will lead visitors on a tour of the school to describe a typical day in the life of a Ranvilles’ pupil and I will be delighted to welcome you to discuss any further questions.

With Very Best Wishes

Angela Williams
